Groundwater Rates Workshop @ Sonoma Veterans Memorial Building | Sonoma | California | United States

This will be a community workshop to review potential rate-fee options for funding the new Sonoma Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA) .

A little background:  The Sonoma Valley Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA) was created last year to comply with California’s new Sustainable Groundwater Management Act. The GSA is responsible for making sure that the Sonoma groundwater basin has enough water to meet the needs of people, agriculture and the environment now and into the future. The new law requires the GSA to develop a very scientific, technical Groundwater Sustainability Plan. Some kind of rate or fee is needed to help pay for the operation of this new agency and the development of this plan. Options for how the fee/rate will be levied is a topic that will be discussed at the March 14 workshop.

The GSA has a website with a lot more information about the new law: http://sonomacountygroundwater.org/sv/

You can also follow the links at the latter website and read meeting packets and agendas for the GSA Board of Directors and the Advisory Committee.
