Rapid Response/Legal Observer training

We are working to create a way for people to respond to fear and anxiety in
our community as a result of the increase in immigration enforcement, ICE
raids and other attacks against our communities. Teams are building across
Sonoma County in order to form a rapid response network that will respond
to calls made to a Sonoma County based hotline that will operate 24 hours a
day. We need to build teams of people in each and every part of Sonoma
County who can respond day and night (many ICE raids take place in the dark
early morning hours). Our goal is to peacefully observe and document the
operation of enforcement officers to aid in defense during deportation
hearings – not to confront officers or obstruct their activities. Only
trained observers will be allowed to participate.

Please join us for training to be part of a legal observer team on:
Saturday, July 22, 9am to noon, La Luz Center, 17560 Greger Street, Boyes
Hot Springs. Register by contacting: lbrewer@vom.com
(Please put “Legal Observer Training” in the
subject line).
