RICHARD WOLFF and HARRIET FRAAD

Economy and Psychology: Real Depressions, Real Solutions

America is suffering. The middle class shrinks as “recovery” bypasses all but the top 5%. Relationships of all kinds suffer under mounting stresses, economic and psychological. Yet new hopes are emerging: Bernie, the ecology movement, the development of cooperatives, and Democracy at Work. Americans are connecting for change, reigniting inspiration, and forging systemic solutions to the economic and psychological difficulties that have beset a generation.

Economist Richard Wolff and his wife, psychologist Harriet Fraad, will discuss how economic policies impact our psychological and social well-being. Those who have heard Wolff speak at the Praxis event last year, or who listen to his radio show, know how compelling and thorough his analysis is. The addition of Fraad in this presentation makes the appropriate connections between the well-being of a society — both on an individual and social level — with the economic paradigm in place. This will be a unique — not to be missed! — presentation.

Reception with Richard Wolff and Harriet Fraad will take place in a private home, immediately following the presentation at the Vintage House. Finger food and wine.
