Join us for a speakers event to learn more about the Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal that is coming up for a vote in Congress in spring 2016 (full text). This deal that is about a lot more than “trade” threatens our Food Safety, Jobs and Environment. Hear from experts in the field and learn how we can take action to stop this deal from going through!
Doors open at 6pm and event starts at 6:15. There will be an extensive Q&A session. Refreshments will be provided!
Speakers include:
Adam Scow is the California Director at Food & Water Watch. Adam oversees the California organizing program, which tackles some of California’s greatest challenges to the long-term health of its water, energy and food.
Xiomara Castro is the Northern California Organizer for Citizens Trade Campaign. CTC is a coalition based organization that works towards just and sustainable trade. Xiomara has been active in bringing together coalitions across Northern California to bring constituent voices to our Congressional Representatives who will vote the TPP up or down. She will discuss various community strategies at this event.
