RANDY HAYES and ANDREW KIMBRELL
Former U. S. Representative LYNN WOOLSEY will be honored at this event.
Randy Hayes is the founder of Rainforest Action Network (RAN), one of the most successful environmental organizations in the country. He is a veteran of many high visibility corporate accountability campaigns and has advocated for the rights of Indigenous peoples throughout the world. Currently, he works in Washington, DC at Foundation Earth, an environmental think tank. Adam Werbach, former President of the Sierra Club, said “Randy Hayes is a hero and a visionary — a radical messenger with the mentality of a Madison Avenue ad executive who is selling just on thing, saving the world before it is too late.”
Andrew Kimbrell is a public interest attorney, activist, and author. He is the Founder and Executive Director of the Center for Food Safety in Washington, DC (with offices in SF and Portland). He also founded the International Center for Technology Assessment (Wash. DC). He has been at the forefront of legal and grassroots efforts to protect the environment and to promote sustainable agricultural production methods. He has successfully sued Monsanto and has appeared before Congress numerous times. He is the author of Your Right to Know: Genetic Engineering and the Secret Changes in Your Food, The Human Body Shop: The Engineering and Marketing of Life, and Salmon Economics. Andrew was named one of the 50 people most likely to save the planet by the UK-based Guardian.
